Memento Tea

I originally planned for this piece to be significantly lighter, but I had to adapt the value composition because of a few early mistakes and the overworking of some areas. And I'm getting a bit irritated at some paints not being pigmented enough because when I want to get their full force, they get hard to handle and a bit glossy. Especially for dark colors, watercolors already have a pretty low darkness limit by default, I don't need poor paints to limit it even further.

Memento Tea

“A cupful of tea
That went cold a while ago
Rests in the hand, totally forgotten,
Of someone absorbed
In old, blurry memories.
The images laying on the table
All seem unquestionably clear,
But for some reason,
The moment they represent
Can’t be recalled.
Weren’t all these taken
So to remember forever?
But those mementos
Turned out to be nothing
But colored papers
As everything attached to them
Already have been lost.”
