Golden Scars

The background adds a lot to this piece. Before I added it, The statue and bird looked weird because of the strange light angle, but it all came together when I added the background with this nice light effect.

Golden Scars

"A stone hand reaching for the sky
Stands in an overgrown trail,
Long forgotten by those who made it.
It seems so frail
Like the golden veins holding it together
Could break from a bird passing by
But it stands strong
Even ages after falling once.
These scars, traces of its past failure,
Held it all together
Even longer than it stood by itself.
If it didn’t fall back then,
No one would have still been here
To repair it when its inescapable end
Would have knocked it down."
