Fluttering

At first I didn't plan on using gouache and ink washes but I messed up and drew some ink lines in the butterflies' shape, and instead of having a patch of gouache to cover it, I chose to go along with it and have all the butterflies in gouache (actually white gouache mixed with colored watercolors) and it gave an interesting result. The ink washes was just because I thought it would look good. I also got pretty good at controling the washes, it still doesn't look exactly look as I want, but all the mistakes were because I didn't paint one of the washes fast enough, so I think It's going well.

Fluttering

“Aging memories
Waver in your head
Like the wings
Of a dancing butterfly.
They long have become hazy,
Getting further and further away
Where you can’t see their bright colors,
Just like spooked butterflies
Fluttering away.”
